1. Be a Christian in any circumstance: Follow God's commandment: Love God and people around you, whether you know them or not; even when they treat you badly. Jesus said "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Also in John 13:15, "I have given you an example, that as I have done, so should you do." In I Corinthians 11:1, Paul says,"Imitate me as I imitate Christ."Ephesians 5:1 says, "Be imitators of God as dear children." Also many Believers are "empty, swept and garnished" (Matthew 12:44). If you just go to church, you will be a weak Christian and trials and temptations will mar your life. But if you go to church and study the Word of God everyday, you will be happy that you'll overcome sin, temptation and be exalted afterwards. Read: Proverbs 8:17-21. Psalms1:1-3. John 14:21-27. James 1:2-8. I Thess 5:16-18. II Timothy 1:6-7, Hebrews 8:6,10. Ephesians 6:10-18. Proverbs 4:20-23.
2. Acknowledge that you have faults (sins), then repent:
Change your attitudes and pray . Realize that conversion is not simply one act but the beginning of a life-long commitment. Persistence, perseverance are continuing attitudes for engaging your opportunities. Don't be hard on yourself if and when you fail but admit it; pick yourself up; trust in God -- go forward and do not let guilt keep you down (it's devil's strong weapon).
3. Read your Bible:
You can learn a lot from this. "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; " (2 Timothy 3:16)
4. Set aside time for effective Prayer:
Pray for people who do not pray enough for their own development, i.e.: children, relatives, friends, enemies, the sick etc. In Ephesians 1:16 Paul prays for a "Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation"
5. Try to see the perspectives (point of view) of others, even when you disagree with them:
There are times you don't need to argue with people. Always try to get people's view, let them understand your value their opinion.
6. Be patient with people who get you angry:
work on forgiving those who may have hurt you. You must learn to love your enemies. God loves everyone, and we need to, also. Say 'GOODBYE' to selective loving. If you have a hard time loving your enemies, pray to God for help.
7. Work and pray for others:
Care for the poor and the needy. This is one of the things Jesus talked about the most in all of His teachings.
8. Treat others kindly as you would like to be treated:
Do to others how you'll want them treat you. This is simply a universal law.
9. Volunteer to help people: Helping people guarantees the best relationship you can ever get. Put smile on someone's face today, you'll amazed how good you'll feel.
10. Do away with pride:
Pride goes before fall. Pride may imply that you are judging others falsely, and is said to be the mother of all sins. The source of all sin is oneself and not considering others (greed, lust, hate, murder, theft, etc.).
11. Share your beliefs so that you continue with the Evangelism:
Remember, living the Christian life through your actions will make others want to follow God. Always stick up for your beliefs such as being conservative in good morals and liberal in giving your what you have, and convert others to Christ by grace through faith, and then into good-works.
12. Understand and follow the Bible:
Many do things because many people are doing it. This is wrong. Try to follow what is written in the Bible, not what you feel or how you think it should be. Have the courage of your convictions to do well but not for judging others.
13. Reform yourself:
This is very important to do well and to be right (in line with the Truth). You must "put on" the whole armor or God. One may sin against himself and possibly against God's purpose and plan by just carelessly maintaining old habits. The Bible says "Therefore, rid yourselves of everything impure and every expression of wickedness, and with a gentle spirit welcome the word planted in you that can save your souls." (James 1:21)
14. Fall in love with God, and trust Him with all your heart, mind and soul:
He loves you more than anyone on the planet can do. That's worth more than everything you can imagine.
15. Make sure you know what you're talking about before you preach it
Most people preach because they have oratory power, some preach because it's in the roster they should preach. Please before you tell someone what to do, try doing it yourself.
